Life Coaching

Life coaching is a career and ethical profession. This profession uses the power of commitment to empower clients to achieve realistic goals in all areas of their lives. Thus life coaching is a holistic process that has the ability to create a balanced life. It creates a proactive approach in which 75% of the action plan comes from the client, thus a Life coach guides and teaches the client to find the right answers and gets results.
The main role of the Life Coach is to empower the client and helps them in all aspects of their life such as your career/job, wealth, health, relationships, friends and family, hobbies and interests, or spirituality. The strength and skill of Life coaching is not about giving advice BUT allowing the clients to find answers for themselves. It is about removing obstacles and encouraging clients to go beyond perceived barriers and dreams.

I like to use the SMART model of goal making which is Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-bound. Life coaching concentrates on the present and future situation only and not your past and usually requires a commitment of 3 to 4 months for appointments.

  1. Hi Darren, This is an exciting thing you are doing. I wonder how people are liking the use of the word epileptics? I prefer to use “people first” language and call myself a person with epilepsy. What do you think of this?

    • Hi Anne, I personally don’t have a problem with the expression ‘epileptics’ BUT I shall be in the future more conscious, in future articles of using ‘person with epilepsy’..Thanks for your comments.

  2. Hi!
I have epilepsy, am a single mom of 3 kids, and am the new owner of a small business. I need help structuring my time and basically getting my work done and goals accomplished. Can you help me?

    • Hello Beth,

Thanks for your message. Yes, I intend to keep up my blog, but haven’t done so in the last 3 months or so because of a family bereavement. which has required me to travel to another state regularly recently.
